Looking for a unique way to get your kids outside and engaged this summer? Head to Captree State Park for the annual Snapper and Crab Fishing Derby, happening Saturday, August 16 and Sunday, August 17, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Hosted by Captree Fuel, Bait and Tackle and the NY State Office of Parks, this family-friendly event invites kids 16 and under to cast a line, catch a crab, and compete for fun prizes in a relaxed, outdoor setting. Best of all, participation is free—just pay the regular $8 vehicle use fee to enter the park.
